New York Skyscraper Tour

New York Skyscraper Tour

Chicago may justly claim to be the birthplace of the skyscraper, but New York made them works of art. There is no place like Manhattan to see the complex forms, functions, and fashions of skyscraper architecture, from the 13 story Bayard-Condict Building (the only work of architect Louis Sullivan in New York City) to the Postmodernist plans for the architectural redevelopment of the Hudson Yards. In order to have a thorough perspective of the development of NYC skyscrapers, we will visit five neighborhoods (Midtown, the Flatiron District, Greenwich Village, Civic Center and the Financial District), using the subway in-between stops. The tour lasts approximately 4 hours with many stops along the way. We will end at the Skyscraper Museum where you can continue your tour inside.
