Broadway Architectural Tour

Broadway Architectural Tour

A unique tour that takes you down Broadway, the oldest and most important street in New York City, tracing the evolution of NYC’s architecture from colonial times to modern day. Because Broadway preceded the grid that the Commissioners' Plan of 1811 imposed on the island, it crosses midtown Manhattan diagonally, intersecting with both the streets and the avenues. The intersections with the avenues, marked by "squares" have induced some interesting architecture, such as the Flatiron Building. We will not only cross famous buildings but also neighborhoods, each with its particular history: from the original Dutch settlement across the Financial District to City Hall, SoHo, the Flatiron District and Herald Square where we end our tour with a wonderful view of the Empire State Building.
